Installation
Things to consider before choosing where to locate therain gauge:
Indoor unit
• The indoor unit has abuilt-in temperature sensor. Theunit should therefore not
be positioned where it might be affected by heat from heaters, fireplaces or other
sources ofheat.
• Avoid placing theunit next to metal objects such as metal window frames as this
may cause interference with reception.
• The indoor unit can be used with thetable stand (1) or hung on awall using
thehanging hole (6). Usefasteners suitable for thewall material and ensure that
there are no electrical wires or water pipes in thewall where you intend to drill
orscrew.
Rain and temperature sensor
• In order to ensure theproper operation of thesensor you should clean thewater
gauge and change thebatteries on aregularbasis. Makesure that thesensor
unit is mounted in anaccessible location.
• Make sure that thesensor is not adversely affected by nearby structures such as
trees and buildings.
• Avoid radiant heat from surrounding buildings, roofs, etc. Asarule, thesensor
should be installed about 5 ft (1.5 m) above theground and shaded from direct
sunlight.
• Test theoperation of thesensor in theintended location before installingit.
Therange (30 m) can also be affected by thetype of obstacles located between
thesensor and theindoor unit (e.g. aconcrete wall will interfere with thesignal
more than aplasterboard wall).
• Other wireless equipment using thesame frequency band (433 MHz) can reduce
thetransmissionrange.
