Function Description
The Craftmade Stellar ceiling fan is designed to provide air circulation and illumination in indoor spaces. It features a motor housing, five blades, and an integrated LED light kit with a glass shade. The fan can be operated at multiple speeds and the light kit offers dimmable functionality. A key feature of this fan is its reversible motor, which allows for seasonal adjustment of air circulation. In summer, the fan can be set to rotate counter-clockwise, creating a downdraft that produces a cooling effect. In winter, it can be set to rotate clockwise, creating an updraft that helps to recirculate warm air trapped near the ceiling, thereby improving heating efficiency. Usage Features
- Installation Versatility: The fan is suitable for rooms up to 400 square feet (37.2 square meters) and can be mounted with a downrod on either a regular (no-slope) or vaulted ceiling. However, flushmount installation is not available for this model. The downrod length can be extended by purchasing a longer 0.5-inch (1.27 cm) diameter downrod. For vaulted ceilings, the angle should not exceed 25 degrees.
- Wall Control Operation: The fan's functions are managed through a dedicated wall control. This control unit allows users to:
- Turn the fan ON and OFF.
- Select from multiple fan speeds: LOW, MEDIUM LOW, MEDIUM, and HIGH.
- Turn the light ON and OFF.
- Adjust the light brightness (dimmer function) using a slide knob.
- Seasonal Reverse Function: The fan includes a reverse switch located on the motor housing. This switch allows users to change the direction of blade rotation to optimize air circulation for different seasons:
- Summer Mode (LEFT position): Creates a downdraft for a cooling effect.
- Winter Mode (RIGHT position): Creates an updraft to recirculate warm air.
- Important Note: The fan must be completely OFF before moving the reverse switch. The switch must be set entirely to the LEFT or RIGHT position for the fan to operate; if it is in the middle position, the fan will not function.
- LED Light Kit: The integrated LED light kit provides illumination and is dimmable to 10% with select dimmers. The light source is designed for this specific application and should not be serviced by untrained personnel.
- Safety Features: The fan is designed with several safety precautions. It requires mounting to a CUL (Canada) or UL (USA) listed outlet box marked "FOR FAN SUPPORT," capable of supporting at least 35 pounds (16 kilograms). A safety cable is provided and must be installed to prevent personal injury or damage in case the fan becomes loose. The instructions emphasize the importance of securely tightening all screws and connections, particularly the set screw on the hanging ball, to prevent the fan from falling.
Maintenance Features

- Blade Arm Screw Tightening: The blade arm screws should be tightened twice a year to ensure stability and prevent wobbling.

- 5-Year Warranty: Covers the fan motor if it fails to operate satisfactorily due to normal use, including repair or replacement of the motor.
- 6-Year to Lifetime Limited Warranty: Covers labor costs for repairing the fan motor if it fails due to normal use, with parts billed at prevailing prices.
- Exclusions: The warranty does not cover damage from mechanical, physical, electrical, or water abuse, or deterioration of finishes or other parts due to time or exposure to salt air. Improper installation or use of the product also voids the warranty.
