Why won't my Craftsman 247.77055 engine start?
    • K
      Kyle HillAug 11, 2025
If your Craftsman Yard Vacuum engine won't start, several factors could be at play. First, ensure the fuel tank has clean, fresh gasoline, as fuel won't last more than thirty days without a stabilizer. Next, check that the spark plug wire is securely connected. Also, verify that the choke is in the ON position and that the safety switch is properly depressed by the front tab on the bag handle. A faulty spark plug might also be the culprit, so inspect, clean, adjust the gap, or replace it. Finally, make sure the safety switch wire is correctly connected to the engine connector and grounded to the mounting bracket. If you cannot pull the recoil cord, there may be an obstruction lodged in the impeller; disconnect the spark plug wire and remove any lodged object.

Why does my Craftsman Yard Vacuum lose power during operation?
    • T
      tammy23Aug 18, 2025
If your Craftsman Yard Vacuum loses power or operates erratically, start by checking the spark plug wire to ensure it's connected and tight. Make sure the choke lever is in the OFF position. A blocked fuel line or stale fuel can also cause issues; clean the fuel line and refill the tank with fresh gasoline, using a fuel stabilizer if the fuel will sit for more than thirty days. Additionally, check for water or dirt in the fuel system by disconnecting the fuel line at the carburetor to drain the fuel tank and then refilling with fresh fuel. Always run the engine at full throttle.

      Christopher KlineAug 26, 2025
If the Craftsman Yard Vacuum unit does not discharge material, first, immediately stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Check for and remove any obstructions in the discharge chute or foreign objects lodged in the impeller. Make sure to empty the vacuum bag if it is full. Always run the engine at full throttle.

Why is the discharge rate slowing on my Craftsman 247.77055?
    • T
      Thomas ClaySep 1, 2025
If the rate of discharge slows considerably or the composition of the discharged material changes in your Craftsman Yard Vacuum, ensure that you are running the engine at full throttle. If the issue persists, the chipper blade may be dull and need replacement.
