  If your Craftsman Yard Vacuum is losing power or operating erratically, consider these potential causes: * A loose spark plug wire: Connect and tighten the spark plug wire. * The unit running on CHOKE: Move the choke lever to the OFF position. * A blocked fuel line or stale fuel: Disconnect the fuel line at the carburetor to drain the fuel tank and then refill it with clean, fresh gasoline. Remember that fuel will not last over thirty days unless a fuel stabilizer is used. * Water or dirt in the fuel system: Disconnect the fuel line at the carburetor to drain the fuel tank and refill it with fresh fuel. * Low engine RPM: Always run the engine at full throttle.

  If your Craftsman Yard Vacuum isn't discharging material, here's what you should check: * A clogged discharge area: Stop the engine immediately, disconnect the spark plug wire, and clean the flail screen and the inside of the discharge opening. * A foreign object lodged in the impeller: Stop the engine immediately, disconnect the spark plug wire, and remove the object. * Low engine RPM: Always run the engine at full throttle. * A full vacuum bag: Empty the bag.
