Why is my Craftsman 919.727260 not supplying enough air?
    • T
      Timothy JonesAug 16, 2025
Your Craftsman Air Compressor might not be supplying enough air to operate accessories due to several reasons. The compressor may not be large enough for the air requirement of the tools you're using. A restricted air intake filter, a hole in the hose, a restricted check valve, or air leaks could also be the cause. To resolve this, first check the accessory's air requirement. If it exceeds the SCFM or pressure supplied by your compressor, you'll need a larger compressor. Clean or replace the air intake filter, and ensure you're not operating the compressor in a paint spray or drywall sanding area. Inspect the hose for holes and replace if necessary. Remove and clean, or replace the check valve. Finally, tighten any loose fittings to eliminate air leaks.

How to fix air leaks at fittings or hose on Craftsman 919.727260?
    • L
      Lisa ChurchAug 22, 2025
If you notice air leaks at the fittings or hose of your Craftsman Air Compressor, it's likely that the tube or hose fittings aren't tight enough. To fix this, carefully tighten the fittings. Use Teflon tape on the threads to create a better seal where you hear air escaping. You can also check for leaks by applying a soapy water solution to the fittings – bubbles will form where air is escaping. Be careful not to overtighten the fittings, as this could damage them.

What causes air leaks at the pressure switch release valve of my Craftsman 919.727260?
    • N
      Nicholas SpencerAug 25, 2025
Air leaks at the pressure switch release valve of your Craftsman Air Compressor can stem from a defective pressure switch release valve or a defective or dirty check valve. A defective check valve results in a constant air leak at the pressure release valve when there is pressure in the tank and the compressor is shut off. Check to see if the pin in the bottom of the pressure release valve is stuck. If it does not move freely, the pressure switch may need to be replaced. Remove and clean or replace check valve. Do not overtighten.

What to do if Craftsman Air Compressor regulator knob has continuous air leak?
    • D
      David RossAug 28, 2025
If your Craftsman Air Compressor regulator knob has a continuous air leak, it is most likely due to dirty or damaged regulator internal parts. The regulator needs to be replaced.

How to fix air leaks between head and valve plate on Craftsman 919.727260 Air Compressor?
    • R
      Richard GordonAug 31, 2025
If you have air leaks between the head and valve plate on your Craftsman Air Compressor, it's likely due to a leaking seal. Try torquing the head screws to 7-10 ft. lbs. If the leak persists after tightening the screws, you'll need to replace the seal.

Why does my Craftsman Air Compressor safety valve keep popping off?
    • G
      Gregory WattsSep 2, 2025
If the safety valve on your Craftsman Air Compressor is popping off, it indicates excessive tank pressure. This typically happens because the pressure switch isn't shutting off the motor when the compressor reaches the cut-out pressure, or the pressure switch cut-out is set too high. Try moving the pressure switch lever to the “O” position. If the compressor still doesn’t shut off, disconnect it from the electrical outlet.

Why does regulated pressure gauge on my Craftsman Air Compressor drop when using an accessory?
    • R
      Rachel JonesSep 6, 2025
It's normal for some pressure drop to occur on the regulated pressure gauge of your Craftsman Air Compressor when an accessory is used. However, if there's an excessive amount of pressure drop, adjust the regulator. Remember to adjust the regulated pressure under flow conditions, meaning while the accessory is being used.

What to do if there is air leak from safety valve on Craftsman 919.727260 Air Compressor?
    • M
      Martin AlexanderSep 9, 2025
If you notice an air leak from the safety valve on your Craftsman Air Compressor, it could indicate a defect in the safety valve. Try operating the safety valve manually by pulling on the ring. If the valve continues to leak after doing this, it should be replaced.

What causes air leaks in air tank of Craftsman 919.727260?
    • A
      Austin RogersSep 12, 2025
Air leaks in the air tank or at the air tank welds of your Craftsman Air Compressor indicate a defective air tank. The air tank must be replaced; do not attempt to repair the leak.

What to do if my Craftsman Air Compressor motor will not run or restart?
    • T
      Tammy MaysNov 18, 2025
If your Craftsman Air Compressor motor won't run or restart, it could be due to several reasons. The tank pressure might exceed the pressure switch 'cut-in' pressure. A fuse could be blown, or a circuit breaker tripped. The motor overload protection switch may have tripped. Other potential causes include a defective motor or capacitor, paint spray on internal motor parts, a check valve stuck open, a pressure release valve not unloading head pressure, or a broken exhaust valve. The motor will start automatically when tank pressure drops below the 'cut-in' pressure. Check the fuse box for blown fuses and replace if necessary. Reset the circuit breaker. Ensure you're using the proper fuse (Time Delay fuses are acceptable) and check for low voltage conditions or a proper extension cord. Disco...
