Why is my Craftsman 919.727350 Air Compressor not supplying enough air?
    • C
      Carl GallowayAug 16, 2025
Your Craftsman Air Compressor might not be supplying enough air due to several reasons. It could be that the compressor isn't large enough for the air requirement of your accessories, or the air intake filter may be restricted. Other potential causes include a hole in the hose, a restricted check valve, or air leaks. To address this, first check the accessory's air requirement and compare it to your compressor's SCFM or pressure. If the accessory needs more, you'll need a larger compressor. Clean or replace the air intake filter, and ensure you're not operating the compressor in a paint spray or drywall sanding area. Inspect the hose for holes and replace if necessary. Remove and clean the check valve, and tighten any loose fittings to eliminate air leaks.

How to fix air leaks at fittings or hose on a Craftsman 919.727350?
    • W
      Wanda ButlerAug 22, 2025
If you notice air leaks at the fittings or hose of your Craftsman Air Compressor, it's likely that the tube or hose fittings aren't tight enough. To fix this, tighten the fittings, using Teflon tape where you hear air escaping. You can also check the fittings with a soapy water solution to identify leaks. Be careful not to overtighten the fittings.

What causes air leaks at the pressure switch release valve on my Craftsman 919.727350?
    • T
      Toni JenningsAug 26, 2025
Air leaks at the pressure switch release valve on your Craftsman Air Compressor can be caused by a defective pressure switch release valve or a defective or dirty check valve. If the pin in the bottom of the pressure release valve is stuck, it should be replaced. A defective check valve can cause a constant air leak at the pressure release valve when there is pressure in the tank and the compressor is shut off. In this case, the check valve should be removed, cleaned, or replaced. Do not overtighten.

What to do if my Craftsman Air Compressor has air leaks in the air tank?
    • R
      Robert BarnesAug 28, 2025
If there are air leaks in the air tank or at the air tank welds of your Craftsman Air Compressor, it indicates a defective air tank. The air tank must be replaced. Do not attempt to repair the leak. Return the compressor to a Sears Service Center. Do not drill into, weld, or otherwise modify the air tank, as this will weaken it and could cause it to rupture or explode.

How to fix air leak from safety valve on Craftsman 919.727350 Air Compressor?
    • L
      Linda CainAug 31, 2025
If you notice an air leak from the safety valve on your Craftsman Air Compressor, it could indicate a defect in the safety valve. Try manually operating the safety valve by pulling on the ring. If the valve continues to leak after doing this, it should be replaced.

What to do if there are air leaks between the head and valve plate on my Craftsman Air Compressor?
    • M
      Michael BensonSep 3, 2025
If you find air leaks between the head and valve plate of your Craftsman Air Compressor, it's likely due to a leaking seal. Try torquing the head screws to 7-10 ft. lbs. If the leak persists after tightening the screws, you'll need to replace the seal.

What to do if my Craftsman Air Compressor safety valve pops off?
    • T
      Tamara MorenoSep 6, 2025
If the safety valve on your Craftsman Air Compressor is popping off, it indicates excessive tank pressure. This can happen if the pressure switch doesn't shut off the motor when the compressor reaches the cut-out pressure, or if the pressure switch cut-out is set too high. Try moving the pressure switch lever to the 'O' position. If the compressor still doesn’t shut off, disconnect it from the electrical outlet and return it to a Sears Service Center to replace the pressure switch.

Why does the pressure drop on my Craftsman 919.727350 Air Compressor when using accessories?
    • N
      nsanchezSep 9, 2025
It's normal for some pressure drop to occur when using accessories with your Craftsman Air Compressor. However, if there's an excessive amount of pressure drop, adjust the regulator. Remember to adjust the regulated pressure under flow conditions, meaning while the accessory is being used.

Why is my Craftsman 919.727350 Air Compressor making a knocking noise?
    • B
      Brenda PerrySep 12, 2025

What to do if my Craftsman 919.727350 Air Compressor motor will not run or restart?
    • M
      Ms. Nicole SmithNov 18, 2025
If your Craftsman Air Compressor motor won't run or restart, and there's a continuous air leak at the regulator knob, or the regulator won't shut off at the air outlet, several issues could be the cause. The tank pressure might be exceeding the pressure switch 'cut-in' pressure. Also, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, or a tripped motor overload protection switch. It could also be a defective motor or capacitor, paint spray on internal motor parts, a check valve stuck open, a pressure release valve not unloading head pressure, or a broken exhaust valve. The motor will restart automatically when tank pressure drops below the 'cut-in' pressure. Check the fuse box and replace any blown fuses, and reset the circuit breaker. Ensure you're using the correct type of fuse and that...
