  If your Craftsman Snow Blower's engine is running erratically, with inconsistent RPM (hunting or surging), here's what you can do: * Ensure the engine isn't running on CHOKE by moving the choke lever to the RUN position. * If the fuel is stale, fill the tank with clean, fresh gasoline. * If there's water or dirt in the fuel system, drain the fuel tank and refill it with fresh fuel. * If the engine is over-governed, contact an authorized Service Center.

  Your Craftsman Snow Blower might be losing power because the spark plug wire is loose; connect and tighten the spark plug wire. Another possible cause is a plugged gas cap vent hole; remove any ice and snow from the gas cap, and ensure the vent hole is clear.

  If your Craftsman Snow Blower fails to discharge snow, here are some possible solutions: * If the chute assembly is clogged, stop the engine immediately, disconnect the spark plug wire, and clean the chute assembly and inside of the auger housing with a clean-out tool or a stick. * If there is a foreign object lodged in the auger, stop the engine immediately, disconnect the spark plug wire, and remove the object from the auger with a clean-out tool or a stick. * For the auger control cable in need of adjustment, refer to Auger Control Test. * For the auger belt loose or damaged, refer to Maintenance & Adjustments section. * If the shear pins are sheared, replace them with new ones.
