      If the motor cuts out, there could be several reasons. First, the tine rotation may be blocked by foreign objects. In this case, turn off the power rake, unplug it, wait for the rotation to stop, remove any foreign objects, wait about a minute, and then plug it back in. Second, the tine depth may be set too low. Turn off the power rake, unplug it, allow the motor to cool, and then set the tine depth to the appropriate height. Finally, the grass might be too tall. Mow the lawn before using the power rake.
