SpeedControlLever
Thespeedcontrollever,locatedontheleftsideofthetractor's
dashconsole,allowsyouto regulatethegroundspeedof thelawn
tractor.Touse,depresstheclutch-brakepedalandmovethelever
outofthe parkingbrakenotchandforwardto increasethetractor's
groundspeed.Whenadesiredspeedhasbeenreached,releasethe
leverintoanappropriatenotchto maintainthat speed.
Toslowthetractor'sgroundspeed,depresstheclutch-brakepedal
andmovethespeedcontrolleverrearwardandreleaseit intoa
notch.
Parking Brake
Tosettheparkingbrake,fully depresstheclutch-brakepedal.Move
thespeedcontrolleverallthewaydownandintothe parkingbrake
position.Releasetheclutch-brakepedalto allowtheparkingbrake
toengage.

BRAKE
Toreleasetheparkingbrake,depresstheclutch-brakepedalandmovethespeed
controlleveroutof thenotchestothedesiredposition.Releasethespeedcontrol
leverandtheclutch-brakepedal.
NOTE:Theparkingbrakemustbesetif theoperatorleavestheseatwith theengine
runningortheenginewill automaticallyshutoff.
Throttle/Choke ControlLever
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleverislocatedontherightsideof the
tractor'sdashpanel.Thislevercontrolsthespeedof theengine
andwhenpushedallthewayforward,thechokecontrolalso.
Whensetinagivenposition,thethrottlewill maintainauniform
enginespeed.
IMPORTANT:Whenoperatingthetractorwith thecuttingdeck
engaged,thethrottle/chokecontrollevermustalwaysbeinthe
FAST(rabbit)position.
Ignition Switch
Thekeyswitch
moduleisusedto
startandstopthe
engine.Insertkey
intothekeyswitch
moduleandturn clockwiseto the
STARTposition.Releasethekeyinto
thenormalmowingpositiononce
enginehasstarted.Theheadlightswill
beactivatedautomatically.
Tostoptheengine,turntheignitionkeycounterclockwisetotheSTOPposition.
IMPORTANT:Priorto operatingthetractor,referto boththe"SafetyInterlock
System"and"StartingTheEngine"laterinthissectionof thismanualfordetailed
instructionsregardingthe IgnitionSwitchModule.
Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO(Blade
EngageLever),moveshift leverinto neutral position, set parking brake,
stopengineand removekeyto prevent unintendedstarting.
Shift Lever
Theshift leverislocatedontheleftside
ofthefenderandhasthreepositions,
FORWARD,NEUTRALandREVERSE.The
clutch-brakepedalmustbedepressed
andthetractormustnotbeinmotion
whenthemovingshift lever.
IMPORTANT:Neverforcetheshift lever.
Doingsomayresultin
seriousdamagetothetractor's
transmission.
DeckLift Lever
Foundonyourtractor'srightfender,thedecklift leverisusedto changetheheight
ofthecuttingdeck.Touse,movetheleverto theleft,thenplaceinthenotchbest
suitedforyourapplication.
PTO(Blade Engage)Lever
Foundonthetractor'sright fender,thePTO(bladeengage)lever
isusedto engagepowerto thecuttingdeckorother(separately
available)attachments.Tooperate,movetheleveralltheway
forward.Movingthe leverallthewayrearwardintothe PTOOFF
positiondisengagespowertothecuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE:ThePTO(bladeengage)levermustbeinthedisengaged(PTO
OFF)positionwhenstartingtheengine.
CupHolder
Thetractor'scupholderislocatedonthefendertotheleftofthe
seat.
Seat Adjustment Knob
Theseatadjustmentknobislocatedonthebottomsideof theseat.
Usethisknobto adjusttheseatforwardorrearwardto a comfortable
operatingpositionbylooseningtheknob,positioningtheseattothe
desiredpreference,thenretighteningtheknob.
Clutch-BrakePedal
Theclutch-brakepedalislocatedontheleftsideof thelawntractor,alongthe
runningboard.Depresstheclutch-brakepedalpartwaydownwhenslowingthe
tractorbychangingspeeds(RefertoSpeedControlLever).Depressthe pedalallthe
waydowntoengagethediscbrakeandbringthetractorto acompletestop.
NOTE:Thepedalmustbedepressedtostart theengine.RefertoSafetyInterlock
