Starting the Engine

1, Insertthetractorkeyintothekeyswitchmodule.
2, DisengagethePTO(BladeEngage)lever/knob,
3, Engagethetractor'sparkingbrake,
4, Pullthechokecontrolknoboutwardintothe full choke
position(awarmenginemaynotrequirechoking),
5, Movethethrottlecontrollevertomidwaybetweenthe
SLOWand FASTpositions,
5, Turnthe ignitionkeyclockwisetothe STARTposition,
Aftertheenginestarts,releasethekey,Itwill returnto
theNORMALMOWINGposition.
IMPORTANT:Donotholdthekeyin the STARTposition
forlongerthantensecondsat a time, Doingsomaycause
damageto yourengine'selectricstarter.
6, Aftertheenginestarts,graduallypushthechokeknob
fullyinwardasthe enginewarmsup,
NOTE: Donotusethechokecontroltoenrichthefuel
mixture,exceptasnecessarytostartandwarmupthe
engine,
If leavingthetractorunattended,alsoturnthe
ignitionkeyoff and removethe key,
Donotmowon slopeinexcessof 15degrees(a rise
ofapproximately2-1/2feetevery10feet),
Planyourmowingpatterntoavoiddischargeof
materialstowardroads,sidewalks,bystandersand
thelike,Also,avoiddischargingmaterialagainst
a wallor obstructionwhichmaycausedischarged
materialtoricochetbacktowardtheoperator.

3, Removethekeyfromtheignitionswitchto prevent
unintendedstarting.
Driving The Tractor
IMPORTANT:Avoidsuddenstarts,excessivespeedand
suddenstops.
° Brieflydepressthe brakepedalto releasethe
parkingbrake.Movethe throttleleverintothe
FAST(rabbit)position,
• Totravelforward:Slowlydepressthe upperportion
ofthedrivepedalforwarduntilthedesiredspeed
isachieved,SeeFigure7,
• Totravelin reverse:Checkthattheareabehindis
clear,thenslowlydepressthelowerportionof the
drivepedalwiththeballof yourfoot(notyour heel)
untilthedesiredspeedisachieved,SeeFigure7,
° Releasethe drive pedalanddepressthe brake
pedalto stopthetractor.
