  Your Cub Cadet Lawn Mower engine might be running erratically due to several reasons: running the tractor with the CHOKE activated, loose spark plug wires, a blocked fuel line or stale fuel, a plugged vent in the gas cap, water or dirt in the fuel system, or a dirty air cleaner. Try these solutions: Move the Throttle/Choke Control out of the choke position, connect the spark plug wires, clean the fuel line and fill the tank with fresh gasoline and replace the fuel filter, clear the vent or replace the gas cap if damaged, drain the fuel tank and refill with clean fuel, or replace the air cleaner paper element or clean the foam pre-cleaner.

Place the throttle in the FAST position. 2. Avoid mulching when the grass is wet. 3. Mow once at a high cutting height, then mow again at your desired height, or reduce the cutting swath. 4. Sharpen or replace the blade.
