Usage Features

The manual highlights several usage features designed to optimize the rider's experience:

  • Precision Adjustment: The Aerium series models require precision adjustment to suit the individual rider, allowing for optimal fit and performance.
  • Integrated Hydration System:
    • Aerium C:68X: Features an in-frame hydration system with a capacity of at least 750ml. It can be set up with a refill option using a frame funnel or a Universal Tube Adapter. The system includes a magnetic click system that pulls the bottle into the correct position and holds it firmly in place. Removal is facilitated by a button on the adapter plate.
    • Aerium C:68 TT: Also includes a hydration system (#34174) with specific components like a storage box (#34096), hydration system lid (#34174), straw (#34174), and straw holder (#32765).
  • Storage Box: An integrated storage box is provided for convenience. For initial use, a locking tab must be cut open with a sharp blade. The box is installed by positioning it on the top tube and sliding it forward until bolt heads engage.
  • Aero Bars: The aero bars incorporate a safety bridge spacer (5mm) that must be installed if using more than 40mm of spacers, to prevent consequential damage.
  • Saddle Installation: The Ritchey 1-bolt clamp allows for simple and safe saddle installation, accommodating both 7x7mm and 7x9.6mm saddle rails. The saddle must be clamped within the indicated scale area, observing stop markings.
  • Electronic Shifting: The bike is exclusively compatible with electronic shifting systems (SRAM eTap AXS/Shimano Di2), ensuring precise and reliable gear changes.

Maintenance Features

The manual provides crucial information regarding maintenance, emphasizing safety and proper care:

  • Dealer Involvement: All set-up changes and technical modifications should be carried out in conjunction with an authorized CUBE dealer to ensure maximum safety. The dealer is also the point of contact for servicing, inspections, modifications, and repairs.
  • Component Selection: Only EN-certified parts and accessories should be used, with the exception of bike computers and bottle cages, provided they are chosen and installed by an authorized dealer. Riders are advised to consult their CUBE dealer when selecting parts and accessories.
  • Tightening Torques: Adhering to the specified tightening torques for all bolts (frame, cockpit, hydration system) is critical for safety and preventing damage. Over-tightening or under-tightening can lead to dangerous riding situations.
  • Seatpost and Saddle Check: Before every ride, the seatpost and saddle must be checked for correct installation.
  • Hydration System Cleaning:
    • All components are dishwasher-proof up to 45°C.
    • Can also be hand-washed with soap and warm water.
    • Avoid harsh scouring agents or abrasive sponges to prevent clouding of the bottle.
    • Regular cleaning is recommended to prevent residue build-up, especially if using sweetened or isotonic drinks, or if unused for a long period.
    • For cleaning, disconnect hoses, remove the closure from the bladder, wash with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush, then hang upside down to air dry.
  • Storage Box Cleaning: The storage box must be removed from the top tube for cleaning. The lid can be pushed from the inside for better access. Clean with warm water and washing-up liquid, or wash at a maximum of 45°C in the dishwasher.
  • Warranty/Guarantee/CCR:
    • Statutory Warranty: 2 years from the date of purchase.
    • Voluntary Manufacturer's Guarantee (Carbon-fibre frames and forks): 3 years from the date of purchase, provided the bike was bought from an official CUBE dealer. This guarantee is solely for the initial purchaser and becomes obsolete if the product is transferred. It applies exclusively to the frame, with additional costs for mounted parts due to technical modifications borne by the customer.
    • CUBE Crash Replacement (CCR): An exchange service designed for uncomplicating and cost-effective exchange following a crash that results in obvious damage to carbon frames and forks, or where damage cannot be ruled out. This service can be utilized at any time within the three-year voluntary manufacturer's guarantee. The CUBE dealer is the point of contact for all claims.
  • Warning against Unprofessional Work: Unprofessional work on the bike can lead to dangerous riding situations, falls, accidents, and material damage. The manufacturer is not responsible for accidents or injuries caused by improper use, disregard for the instruction manual, incorrect adjustments, neglect, or excessive wear.
