whenanelectricsignalisapplied.Whenheatingthethermostatic
elementitexpandsinordertomanagethecontrolvalve.
Twobasictypesareavailable:ABVNC(NormalClosed)andABVNO
(normalopen).Forexample,ABVNCkeepsa2-portcontrolvalve
closedwhennoopen-signalsareapplied.
Electricopen-signalscomefromtheelectronicoutputoftheECL
Comfortcontrollerinordertomanagethecontrolvalve.When
open-signalsareappliedtotheABVNC,thevalvegraduallyopens.
Open-signalsareintheECLComfortcontrollerexpressedas
"Arrow-up"(open)anddisplayedatthevalvesymbol.
Whentheflowtemperature(forexampleatS3)islowerthanthe
desiredflowtemperature,relativelylongopen-signalscomefrom
theECLComfortcontrollerinordertoincreasetheflow.Bythis,
theflowtemperaturewillovertimebealignedwiththedesired
temperature.
Oppositely,whentheflowtemperatureishigherthanthedesired
flowtemperature,relativelyshortopen-signalscomefromtheECL
Comfortcontrollerinordertoreducetheflow.Again,theflow
temperaturealigns,overtime,withthedesiredtemperature.
ThecontroloftheDanfossthermo-actuatortypeABVusesaunique
designedalgorithmandisbasedonthePWMprinciple(Pulse
WidthModulation),wherethedurationofthepulsedetermines
themanagementofthecontrolvalve.Thepulsesarerepeated
each10sec.
Aslongastheflowtemperaturecorrespondstothedesired
temperature,thedurationoftheopen-signalswillremainconstant.

parameter.
