Overview

The Datavideo DAC-8P is an SDI to HDMI converter designed for professional video applications, enabling the conversion of HD/SD-SDI signals to HDMI, with the added flexibility of embedding either SDI audio or external analog RCA audio into the HDMI output. This compact device facilitates long-distance signal transmission and offers a bypass loop-thru output for SDI signals.

Function Description:

The primary function of the DAC-8P is to convert a single HD/SD-SDI input signal into an HDMI (V1.2) output. It also provides a loop-thru HD/SD-SDI output, allowing the input signal to be passed through to another device without interruption. A key feature is its audio embedding capability, where users can select between the audio embedded in the SDI signal or external unbalanced L/R RCA analog audio to be included in the HDMI output. This selection is made via a mini-switch located on the front panel.
