Overview

The Dawlance DW 297 GSS is a 700-watt microwave oven designed for household use, offering a range of cooking functions and user-friendly features. This owner's guide provides comprehensive instructions for its safe installation, operation, and maintenance.

Function Description

The microwave oven utilizes modern electronic control to adjust cooking parameters, allowing for various cooking modes:

  • Microwave Cooking: This is the primary cooking mode, offering adjustable power levels from 10% to 100% (P10 to P100). Users can set cooking times from 0:05 to 95:00 minutes.
  • Grill Cooking: The oven includes a grill function, which can be used independently or in combination with microwave power.
  • Combination Cooking (Combi.1 and Combi.2):
    • Combi.1: Combines 55% microwave power with 45% grill power.
    • Combi.2: Combines 36% microwave power with 64% grill power. During grill or combination cooking, the oven sounds twice at half the grill time, indicating that the food should be turned over for better grilling results. If no action is taken, the oven continues working.
  • Defrost By Weight (dEF1): Allows defrosting based on the weight of the food, with a range of 100-2000g.
  • Defrost By Time (dEF2): Allows defrosting based on a set time, with a maximum of 95 minutes.
  • Multi-Stage Cooking: Supports up to two cooking stages. If one stage involves defrosting, it must be the first stage. Auto menu cannot be set as part of multi-stage cooking.
  • Pre-set Function: Enables users to program a cooking start time in advance, provided the clock is set.
  • Speedy Cooking: Offers quick cooking at 100% power for 30-second increments, up to a maximum of 95 minutes. This function can also be used to increase cooking time during microwave, grill, combination cooking, and defrost by time processes.
  • Auto Menu: Features pre-programmed settings for common food items like Reheat (A-1), Vegetable (A-2), Fish (A-3), Meat (A-4), Pasta (A-5), Potato (A-6), Pizza (A-7), and Soup (A-8). Users select the menu and food weight, and the oven automatically sets the cooking parameters.
  • Clock Setting: Allows users to set the current time (0-23 hours, 0-59 minutes).
  • Lock Function for Children: A safety feature that locks the oven's controls to prevent unintentional operation. It is activated by pressing "STOP/CLEAR" for 3 seconds and released by the same action.
  • Inquiring Function: Allows users to check the current power level during cooking or the current time during cooking/preset states.
