Overview

This document describes the Dawlance DWT 1166 X ADS+ Fully Automatic Washing Machine, a top-loading appliance designed for efficient laundry care.

Function Description:

The Dawlance DWT 1166 X ADS+ is a fully automatic washing machine that offers a range of functions for comprehensive laundry care. It features multiple wash programs including Normal, Eco+, Fast, Delicates, Child, Heavy, and Shirts, catering to various fabric types and soil levels. The machine incorporates a "fuzzy" logic system that automatically senses the amount of clothing and sets the appropriate water level and wash cycle parameters. Users can customize wash, rinse, and spin times, as well as water level, soak time, and delay start options.

A key feature is the automatic detergent dispensing system, indicated by a shiny detergent lamp at startup. This function can be canceled if users prefer to add detergent manually. The machine also supports automatic softener dispensing, which is added during the last rinse cycle. For users who prefer liquid detergent, it can be poured directly into the wash bucket. Bleach can also be used, diluted in a container and slowly poured into the wash bucket after the water has reached the specified level.

The washing machine includes a "Water Recycle" function, which, after the last rinse, prevents draining and spinning, allowing users to reuse the water. An alarm and flashing indicator light signal this state, and the machine will stop working if no operation is performed, eventually cutting off power automatically after an hour. Pressing START/PAUSE activates draining and spinning, and the indicator light turns on.

A "Child Lock" function is available, which locks all buttons, including POWER. If the top lid is opened while the machine is working with child lock active, the washing will stop, and an alarm will sound. If the lid is closed within 5 seconds, the machine resumes operation; otherwise, it starts draining if water is present. During draining with child lock, an alarm sounds every 10 seconds. If the water level is about 5cm higher, the alarm will sound every 10 minutes. Once draining is complete, the machine waits, and closing the lid unlocks it and resumes previous settings. If the top lid is opened during washing or rinsing with water in the inner tub while child lock is set, the machine will drain and alarm. Unlocking the function during draining will cause the machine to add water to the set level and continue working.

The control panel provides clear indications: a constantly on light means the function is not selected, a flashing light means it is selected, and a rapidly flashing light indicates an error. Users can select programs, adjust parameters like wash time, rinse times, spin time, water level, soak time, and appointment time using dedicated keys. The digital timer displays preset time in hours, air dry time in minutes, remaining wash time in minutes, or trouble codes.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Model: DWT 1166 X ADS+
  • Rated voltage and frequency: 220V~50Hz
  • Water level/water volume (about): 65 Litre
  • Product dimension (WxDxH): 560x560x965 (mm)
  • Rated input power-rated voltage: Refer to Specification Label
  • Inlet Pressure: 0.03 MPa– 0.3MPa
  • Maximum laundry capacity: 8.0 kg (standard dry laundry)

Usage Features:

  • Installation: The machine requires proper installation, including securing the bottom cover, ensuring it is horizontal (checked with a plumb), and connecting the drainpipe and water inlet hose. The drainpipe height should be less than 10cm for smooth drainage, and its length should not exceed 1.5m. The water inlet hose connector must be securely attached to a suitable tap (with a flat, smooth exit end longer than 10mm) and the washing machine.
  • Safety Precautions: Users are warned against putting hands inside the working machine, overloading it, placing hot items on it, or washing garments contaminated with volatile petroleum products. It is crucial to unplug the appliance and turn off the water when not in use, during cleaning, or power cuts. The machine should not be installed in damp places like bathrooms, and water hotter than 50°C should not be used. Waterproof laundry like raincoats or bike covers should not be washed as they can cause unusual vibrations during spinning.
  • Laundry Preparation: Before washing, users should empty pockets, knot long bands, fasten buttons, close zippers, and sort laundry by fabric type, color-fastness, and dirtiness. Overloading the machine should be avoided, and large items should be alternated with small ones. New colored items should be washed separately, and white items should not be mixed with colored ones. Delicate items, nap fabric, and long floss laundry should be turned inside out or placed in a washing bag.
  • Detergent Use: Low foam washing powder is recommended. Washing powder can be dissolved directly in the machine with a little water or pre-dissolved in warm water (approx. 30°C). Liquid detergent can be poured directly into the wash bucket. The machine also has an auto-drop function for detergent, which can be canceled if manual addition is preferred.
  • Operation Steps: After powering on, the machine enters an initial state, often with "fuzzy" sensing if no water is in the inner bucket, displaying default wash, rinse, and spin times. Users can then select programs, adjust parameters (wash, rinse, spin times, water level, soak time, preset/delay start) using the respective keys. The "function" key allows selection of detergent, softener, tub clean, water recycle, and air dry. Once settings are confirmed, closing the lid and pressing START/PAUSE begins the operation.
  • Water Level Adjustment: During washing or rinsing, if more water is needed, users can pause the machine, select "water level" with the parameter key, choose a higher level with the "set" key, and resume. The machine will automatically fill to the new level. If the changed water level is lower than the current level, the machine continues after a pause, and the new level is reflected in the next water intake. The automatic filling process for soaking, washing, and rinsing ensures the machine rehydrates to the set water level if it drops below.

Maintenance Features:

  • Post-Programme Care: After the washing cycle, the machine automatically stops and signals completion. It is advised to unplug the machine and turn off the water tap after use. Water should not be left in the tub for extended periods; it should be drained immediately.
  • Cleaning: The exterior cabinet should be cleaned with a soft cloth, avoiding cleansers or volatile chemical materials that could damage plastic parts. The magic filter (lint filter) should be regularly pulled out, opened, and cleaned. The inlet filter net, which can be blocked by dust, should also be cleaned by closing the tap, turning on the power for 5 seconds to allow water into the tub, cutting power, pulling off the inlet hose, and cleaning the inlet valve and net before reinstalling.
  • Water Drainage: The drain hose should be kept clear and unobstructed.
  • Preventing Mold and Odors: After use, wipe water from the surface and tub with a soft cloth and leave the top lid open for a while to prevent mold and stagnant smells.
  • Freezing Prevention (Winter): In winter, if there's a risk of freezing, the water inlet hose should be removed, and water drained from the hose and inner tub. If water has already frozen, do not operate the machine; instead, pour 40°C hot water into the tub until it submerges the pulsator, then gently rotate the pulsator by hand before operating.
  • Troubleshooting: The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues like the control panel having no display, inlet hose leaks, drainage problems, water inlet issues, and spin cycle irregularities, along with possible causes and solutions. For example, if the control panel has no display, check if the plug is inserted, if there's electricity, and if the power switch is on. If the machine doesn't drain, check if the drainpipe is put down, bent, or blocked. If the spin stops and starts, it might be due to too much or too little laundry, or an unstable machine placement.
  • Error Codes: The machine displays error codes (E0, E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, F1, Eb) on the digital timer to indicate specific issues, such as an open lid, water not reaching the desired level, or detergent box insufficiency. Each code has a corresponding explanation and settlement action, such as closing the lid, checking water supply, or adding detergent.
  • Power Cut-off: The power supply will automatically cut off after 10 minutes if the power button is pressed but no other operation is performed. If the machine is running and the power is cut off, it will resume from the point of interruption when power is restored.
