4.6 Training
After installation and setting, the correct operation of the
completeautomatismmust becarefullyillustrated tothefinal
user.
The LIVI gate operator requires careful instruction on the
releasemechanism(see“Enclosures”)inparticularandtheres-
pectivemaintenanceschedule(seePoint4.5.6.).
WARNING Awareness of the operation of theLIVIkey-re-
leasemechanism(seeF9Page32)isessentialforallusersof
theautomatismbecausethefailuretousethedevicequickly
duringemergenciescanjeopardisepeople,animalsandpro-
perty.EnclosureItotheseinstructions,whichtheinstalleris
requiredtodelivertothefinaluser,illustratesoperationand
canbedetached.
4.7 Inappropriate use
Chapter“4.4Appropriateconditions ofuse”describesthe
conditionsforwhichtheproducthasbeendesignedandtested.
Theproductmustneverbeusedforotherpurposes.
WARNINGTheuseoftheproductunderunusualconditions
notforeseenbythemanufacturercancreatesituationsofdan-
ger,andforthisreasonalltheconditionsprescribedinthese
instructionsmustberespected.
WARNING Under no circumstances must the product be
usedinexplosiveatmospheresorsurroundingsthatmayprove
corrosiveanddamagepartsoftheproduct.

Thelistofsparepartsthatcanbeordered(Pages28,29and
33)isadetailedlistthataccompaniestheexplodedviewofthe
productandmustbeusedtoorderspareparts.
Thefollowingdatamustalwaysbeprovidedwhenordering
spareparts:

• thepart’spositionnumberintheexplodedview,
• ifavailable,theproduct’spurchasedatemaybeusefulin
somecases.
6 COMPLETE CLOSING ASSEMBLY
Thischapterillustratesthetypicalinstallationofacomple-
teautomatismfor thepurpose ofinforming andassistingthe
installerintheselectionofthevariouspartstobeusedincom-
pliancewithMachineryDirective(2006/42/CE)andEuropean
SafetyStandards(EN14453-EN12445)forgateinstallation.
Thedataprovidedinthischapterareneithercompletenor
exhaustive,andDEASystemdeclinesallliabilityforanyerrors,
omissionsorinaccuraciesthatmayoccur.
6.1 Minimum level of protection provided by the
safety edge
Theriskofgettingcrushedbetweenthegateandthefence
orwalland/orotherfixedpartsisamongthemostseriousrisks
tobeconsideredwhenautomatingaslidinggateis.Anappro-
priatetypeofoperatingcontrolboardmustbeusedaccording
tothegatetypeanduseagainstsuchrisk,asprovidedforbythe
quotedregulations(see“OPERATINGCONTROL”table).
6.2 Crushing in the opening area
Theriskofcrushingcanalsoariseintheareabetweenthe
gatebeing openedandthe wallorotherconstructionbehind
it. F10 on Page 32 provides the measurements that must be
respectedwhenevermeasuresarenottakentolimittheimpact
forceorwheneverpresencedetectionsystemsarenotused.
6.3 Impact in the opening/closing area
Installapairofphotocellsononeortheothersideofthe
gateoronbothinordertoavoidtheriskofimpactwiththegate
intheclosingarea.(recommendedheight:500mm)inorderto
detectthepresenceofthetestparallelepiped(height:700mm)
positionedasshowninF11onPage32.
Note.Thepresencedetectiontestsampleisaparallelepiped
with3sideswithlight-colouredreflectingsurfacesand3sides
withdark-coloured,opaquesurfaces.
Makesurethereisnoconflictwhenthephotocellsareinstal-
ledonbothsides.Thesystemworkingonthegatesidewherethe
testsampleispositionedmustdetectalltestobjects.
