Why does my Defiant MSH27920DLWD Flood Light stay on all night?

  If your Defiant Flood Light stays on all night, first ensure that the sensor isn't detecting movement from things like trees or traffic; try reducing the sensitivity or repositioning the sensor. If there is no motion, check if the unit is in override mode; turn the light switch off for 90 seconds, then back on to return to 'Auto' mode. If the light remains on even with the sensor covered, it may be set between 1m-12m ('Auto' mode). Contact Customer Service if the issue persists.

  If your Defiant Flood Light continuously blinks on and off at night, the light from the unit’s own lamp might be affecting the motion sensor. Try re-aiming the lamp and repositioning the motion sensor. Also, check if the knob is positioned between TEST and 1m; if so, reposition the knob closer to either the TEST or 1m function.

  To activate dusk to dawn mode on your Defiant Flood Light, ensure that the surrounding ambient light isn't too bright, as this can trick the unit into thinking it's daytime; try re-aiming the sensor head or repositioning the unit away from the light. Also, make sure you allow enough time to enter the dusk to dawn mode by turning the power off and on twice within 3 seconds. If there is more than one fixture on an indoor wall switch, put them on separate switches.
