      The Defiant Flood Light might be staying on continuously because the motion sensor is picking up a heat source, such as an air vent, dryer vent, or brightly painted, heat-reflective surface. Try decreasing the “Sensitivity” setting or repositioning the motion sensor. Alternatively, the sensor might be in manual mode, so turn the manual mode option to off. Also, ensure that the light fixture is not wired through a dimmer or timer; replace them with a standard on/off wall switch. Finally, the light fixture should be installed on a circuit without motors, transformers, or fluorescent bulbs.

      The Defiant Flood Light might be turning on for no apparent reason because the motion sensor may be sensing small animals or automobile traffic, or the “Sensitivity” setting is set too high. Try decreasing the “Sensitivity” setting or repositioning the motion sensor. If the “DUALBRITE” setting is in the 3 hour, 6 hour, or dusk-to-dawn setting, the light fixture is operating normally. Also, if the outside temperature is much warmer or cooler than a person’s body heat, decrease the “Sensitivity” setting. Finally, make sure the light fixture is not wired through a dimmer or timer; replace it with a standard on/off wall switch.

      The lights of your Defiant Flood Light might be flashing on and off because heat or light from the lamp heads may be turning the motion sensor on and off. Reposition the lamp heads away from the motion sensor. Alternatively, heat is being reflected from other objects and may be turning the motion sensor on and off. In this case, decrease the “Sensitivity” setting or reposition the motion sensor.
