Why do my Defiant Flood Light stay on continuously?

  Your Defiant Flood Light might stay on continuously because the motion sensor is picking up a heat source like an air vent or heat-reflective surface. Try decreasing the “SENS” setting or repositioning the motion sensor. It could also be in manual mode; switch it to auto or wait until sunrise. Also, ensure the light isn't wired through a dimmer or timer; if it is, replace it with a standard switch. Finally, check if the light is on the same circuit as a motor, transformer, or fluorescent bulb, and if so, install it on a separate circuit.

How to remove wires from the mounting plate of my Defiant DF-5909-WH?

  To remove the wires from the mounting plate connector of your Defiant Flood Light, first turn OFF the power to the light fixture. Then, twist the wires back and forth as you pull them from the mounting plate. Note that push-in terminals are not for reuse.

  If your Defiant Flood Light flashes on and off, it could be due to several reasons. One possibility is that heat or light from the light panels is triggering the motion sensor. Try repositioning the light panels away from the sensor. Another cause might be heat being reflected from other objects; in this case, decrease the “SENS” setting or reposition the motion sensor. Lastly, if the motion sensor is in “TEST” mode, remember that the light only stays on for 5 seconds. Set the “ON- TIME” to 5 or 20 minutes.
