Removing the optical drive
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the:
a) Side cover
b) Front bezel
3. To remove the optical drive:
a) Disconnect the hard drive data cable and power cable from the connectors on the hard drive [1, 2].
b) Slide the release tab to unlock the hard drive and optical module [3].
c) Lift the hard drive and optical module [4].
