Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the stand.
3. Remove the back cover.
4. Remove the system-board shield.
About this task
NOTE: Removing the coin-cell battery resets the BIOS settings to default. It is recommended that you note the BIOS
settings before removing the coin-cell battery.
The following image(s) indicate the location of the coin-cell battery and provides a visual representation of the removal
procedure.
Steps
1. Push the release lever on the coin-cell battery socket to release the coin-cell battery out of the socket.
2. Lift the coin-cell battery from the coin-cell battery socket.
