Theentirecrewmustbetrainedproperly.
Insomecountriesalicenceoratrainingcourseisrequested.Makesureyouhavethis
beforeyouusetheboat.
Youshouldalwayskeeptheboatingoodconditionsandtakeintoaccountthatit
wearsoutwithtimeandinapropriateuse.
Anyboat,howeversoliditmaybe,maybeseverlydamagedifbadlyused.Thisisnot
compatiblewithasecurenavigation.Alwaysadjustthespeedanddirectionoftheboat
totheconditionsofthesea.
Ifyourboatisequippedwithaliferaft,readtheinstructioncarefully.Thecrewshould
befamiliarwiththeuseofallsafetyequipment(harness,flares,liferaft,etc.)andthe
emergencysafetyprocedures MOBtowing,etc).Sailingschoolsandyachtclubs
organizesuchcoursesregularly.
Youarenotallowedtosailatthemaximumspeedinbusyareasorincaseoflow
visibilitystrongwindorvastwaves.Thenyoushouldreducethespeedandchange
thedirectionoftheboattakingintoaccountyourownandothers’ safety.
Youshouldobeythe ‘COLREG’,thesteeringandcourseregulationrulesasitis
describedandpublishedbyInternationalMaritimeOrganization.Thesearethe
internationalregulationsinordertopreventcollisionatsea.
Makesureifthereisenoughplaceforstoppingtheboatormanoeuvreinorderto
preventthecollision.
