Overview

The Loggito Series comprises a range of compact and versatile data acquisition devices designed for industrial applications, offering quick setup and reliable measurement. The series includes the Loggito Logger, Loggito USB, and Loggito Gate, each tailored for specific use cases while maintaining a common software and configuration environment.

Function Description:

The Loggito devices are primarily used for data acquisition and process control. They enable users to measure, record, and analyze various physical parameters such as voltage, temperature, and pressure. The Loggito Logger is a standalone data logger capable of storing measurement data internally, making it suitable for long-term, independent monitoring. The Loggito USB acts as an expansion module, providing additional channels when connected to a Loggito Logger or Gate, or directly to a PC for specific applications. The Loggito Gate serves as a central hub, facilitating communication and data transfer, often equipped with WLAN capabilities for remote access. All devices are configured and managed using the DataService / Configurator software, which allows for detailed channel setup, sensor type definition, and scaling. For advanced data visualization and analysis, the optional ProfiSignal software (Web, Go, Basic, Klicks) provides trend diagrams, logic diagrams, and data export functionalities. The system supports TCP/IP connections, with virtual network interfaces automatically created for USB connections to a PC, simplifying network integration.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Power Supply:
    • Loggito Logger and Gate: 12-24 VDC, at least 7.5 W (power supply unit not included).
    • Loggito USB: 5 VDC via integrated mini USB socket.
  • Measurement Capabilities:
    • 24-bit analog input, sampled at a maximum of 1 kHz.
    • Measuring range: typically +/-10000 mV for analog inputs.
    • Support for various sensor types (e.g., Voltage, with bipolar options).
  • Connectivity:
    • USB PC-connection (Loggito Logger/Gate/USB).
    • LAN cable connection (Loggito Logger/Gate).
    • WLAN (W) option available for Loggito Logger and Gate, requiring a screw-on antenna.
    • TCP/IP connection established via USB for Loggito Logger/Gate.
  • Software:
    • DataService / Configurator: Included on DVD for device configuration and management.
    • ProfiSignal Web / Go / Basic / Klicks: Optional software for online analysis, data visualization (y(x), y(t), logic diagrams), and data export.
  • Mounting: DIN rail mounting supported for all Loggito devices.
  • Memory: Loggito Logger typically includes internal memory (e.g., 3766 MB).

Usage Features:

  • Quick Start: The system is designed for rapid deployment, allowing users to start measurements in just a few steps.
  • Intuitive Configuration: The DataService / Configurator software provides a user-friendly interface for setting up channels, defining sensor types, and applying scaling. Double-clicking a channel opens a detailed configuration dialog.
  • Modular Design: Loggito USB devices can expand the channel count of Loggito Logger/Gate units, offering flexibility in system design.
  • Automatic Device Detection: When connected to a PC, Loggito Logger/Gate devices are automatically detected by the DataService / Configurator via a virtual network interface, simplifying setup.
  • Online Analysis: The optional ProfiSignal software enables real-time data visualization in various diagram types, facilitating immediate analysis of incoming measurement data.
  • Flexible Connectivity: Support for USB, LAN, and optional WLAN provides versatile options for connecting devices to a PC or network.
  • License Management: The software installation process integrates personalized license details from the provided DVD, ensuring proper authorization.

Maintenance Features:

  • Software Updates: The system relies on software for configuration and analysis, implying that updates to DataService / Configurator and ProfiSignal would be part of maintenance.
  • Driver Installation: For USB PC-connections, device drivers may need to be installed, which is a standard maintenance step for hardware integration.
  • Troubleshooting: The online help (accessible via F1 in the software) provides detailed information and troubleshooting guidance, including topics like NTP time synchronization for accurate data display.
  • Physical Inspection: Regular checks of power supply connections and cable integrity (USB, LAN) are implied for reliable operation. For WLAN-enabled devices, ensuring the screw-on antenna is properly attached is crucial.
  • Data Backup: While not explicitly stated as a feature, the ability to export data from ProfiSignal suggests that users can implement their own data backup strategies for long-term data retention.
