VFD-ED
Q How to connect the encoder in case of non-differential signals?
A If the encoder only has non-differential output signals A1, B1, and Z1, please do the
following:
Connect the encoder signals to the inputs A1, B1, and Z1.
Connect the unused inputs /A1, /B1, and /Z1 to DCM to avoid interference problems.
EMC-PG01O
Q How to connect an encoder with OC outputs to EMC-PG01O?
A The encoder outputs A, /A, B, /B, Z, /Z should be connected to the following pins of
EMC-PG01O: A1, /A1, B1, /B1, Z1, /Z1 respectively. Because these inputs do not
have an internal pull-up resistor, it is necessary to connect them externally from each
input to V P.
VP=12V R= 680Ω~1.2kΩ ½W
VP=5V R= 330Ω~470Ω ½W
Brake Units
Q What happens on BUExxxxx when the MASTER-SLAVE switch is set to SLAVE
and only one brake unit is connected?
A If you use one braking unit and set the switch to SLAVE, it means there is no signal
to control the braking unit. Therefore, there will be no braking action. When the DC-
bus voltage (P-N) is too high, the drive and/or the brake unit may be damaged.
Q What is the braking voltage when all dipswitches are OFF on a BUExxxxx ?
A When you set all dip-switch OFF, the voltage is equal to 190V
AC
(380V
AC
). It is shorted
by inside circuit. It means dip-switch 190V
AC
(380V
AC
) is always ON for safety
concerns.
Q What is the purpose of the Master-Slave switch?
A On BUE20015 (and other BUE and VFDB brake units) the master-slave switch is used
whenever you need 2 units on one drive.
