This guide describes how to install and configure a Red5-PLUS/EDGE-11xx controller. If you are using the

Proviso™ App, you will need an Android or iOS device with Proviso installed. Download the app for free from

Google Play or the App Store.

Installation

Follow all applicable electrical codes and regulations. Connect to a Class 2 power source only.

Wiring guidelines

The Red5 requires a 24 VDC/VAC

power supply.

• For power and I/O wiring, use 18

AWG 2-conductor copper wire.

• For network cabling, use Cat5e

or Cat6 cables.

Ground all devices according to Delta Controls

Wiring and Installation Guidelines.

Red5-EDGE-11xx models only: Up to 30

devices can be daisy chained using the ETH1 and

ETH2 ports as long as the distance between the

devices does not exceed 100 m (330 ft). A bypass

switch allows the devices to relay data in a

power failure scenario. However, the maximum

cable length is reduced by 15 m (50 ft) for each

bypassed device.

Mounting the Red5

1. The Red5 comes in a plastic enclosure that is designed to be installed onto a 35 mm × 7.5 mm top-hat DIN

rail.

2. Mount the Red5 in an appropriate location within packaged equipment or within another enclosure that

meets code requirements. Alternatively, the controller can be mounted with four screws (without using

DIN rail) via the 4 holes provided on the mounting clips.
