HDCD playback
When an HDCD-compatible CD is played with digital connections, the surround modes shown below are displayed (abbreviat-
ed), indicating that HDCD decoding processing is being performed.

Surround speaker backup
The surround speaker setting (A, B or A+B) can be set separately for each of the different types
of surround modes (Cinema, Music, Game and Multi-Channel). The surround backup speaker’s
setting can also be set separately for each of these types of surround modes.
Surround parameters
The “SW ATT” parameter for reducing the level of the subwoofer channel when playing in the
EXT.IN input mode has been added. Depending on the player you are using, the subwoofer
channel’s playback level may seem too high. If so, set “SW ATT” to “ON”.
For Denon players, use with the original settings.
DTS NEO:6 MUSIC mode
The settable range for the “CNTR IMAGE” (center image) parameter is now 0.0 to 1.0, and the initial value is now 0.3.

(2) For multi-channel sources
Press the DOLBY SURROUND button to set the Dolby Surround mode.
Select the desired mode from among the “SB CH OUT” parameters under the surround para-
meters. The mode can be selected even during playback in the DTS surround or MPEG2 AAC
mode. The decoder switches as described below.
*MTRX : when playing DTS signals, the mode is set to “ES MTRX” or “ES DSCRT”.
To play in the PLIIx Music mode, set “Sp.Back” at the system setup to “1Spkr” or “2Spkr”.
To play in the PLIIx Cinema mode, set “Sp.Back” at the system setup to “2Spkr”.
