Troubleshooting, Adjustment & Service
BELT REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT
Mower Deck Drive Belt
1. Loosen the guard hold-downs and remove the
mower deck guard.
2. Release the spring tension on the deck drive belt
with a 3/4ā wrench on top of the idler pulley (B,
Figure 12). Slide the belt over the edge of the idler
pulley to remove the belt.
3. Remove the hardware fastening the electric clutch to
the rubber pad and unplug the electric clutch.
4. Remove the belt from the pulleys.
5. Replace with the new belt in reverse order. See
BELT TENSION & ADJUSTMENT for proper belt ten-
sion.
Blade Spindle Drive Belt
1. Remove the deck drive belt (see instructions above).
2. Loosen the nut (D, Figure 13) on the eyebolt to
release the belt tension.
3. Remove the belt from the pulleys.
4. Replace with the new belt in reverse order. See
BELT TENSION & ADJUSTMENT for proper belt ten-
sion.
Transmission Drive Belt
1. Remove the deck drive belt (see instructions above).
2. Remove the nylon lock nut from the spring anchor
bolt to release the spring tension.
3. Remove the hardware fastening the electric clutch to
the rubber pad and unplug the electric clutch.
4. Remove the belt from the idler pulley and clutch pul-
ley.
5. Feed the belt up and over the transmission cooling
fan.
6. Replace with the new belt in reverse order. See
BELT TENSION & ADJUSTMENT for proper belt ten-
sion.
