BELT TENSION & ADJUSTMENT
Mower Deck Drive Belt
This belt is spring tensioned and requires no adjsutment.
However, due to normal belt wear the pre-set spring ten-
sion may be insufficient. Two steps may be taken to
increase the belt tension.
1. Adjust the nuts on the eyebolt to increase spring ten-
sion.
2. Move the stationary idler pulley towards the left-hand
side of the machine. The mounting flange has three
mounting positions for the idler. You must remove
the belt prior to makingthis adjustment (see BELT
REMOVAL & REPLACEMENT).
Blade Spindle Drive Belt
Tighten the nut on the eyebolt until a 10 lb. pull is
required to deflect the belt 1/2ā between the idler pulley
and the right-hand spindle pulley (see Figure 14).
Transmission Drive Belt
This belt is spring tensioned and requires no adjustment.
