2. Start-up instructions
Insert test board and switch on device.
2.1 Measuring supply voltages
Earth for measurements for 2.1.1 to 2.1.5 is MP 1.
2.1.1 Supply voltage + 8,5 V DC
measure ± 1,5 V MP 5 at input 7805.
2.1.2 Supply voltage + 5 V DC
Measure ± 0.5 V MP 6 at output 7805.
2.1.3 Supply voltage + 75 V DC
Measure ± 10 V at MP 2.
2.1.4. Voltage for patient fan motor
Measure at J5 MP 7 Plus
Motor connection for push button Flow min. 7 V DC ± 1 V
Push button Flow max. 11 V DC ± 1 V
2.1.5 Voltage for axial fan
Measure at clamp J13 MP 8. Voltage 11 V DC ± 1 V
2.1.6 Voltage for heat tube
Measure at clamp J1 MP 9, MP 10: 11
V AC ± 1 V.
Caution: change measuring device to AC!
2.2 Calibrating the power supply.
Start up device with nebuliser chamber.
2.2.1 Connect measuring equipment to measuring points
MP 2 and MP 3.
(Measuring range 2 V DC). Switch on device using the “On/Off”
push button and carefully turn to maximum setting. Then
using regulator R2, adjust to a voltage of 0.450 volts ± 0.01 V.
100 mV at point MP 2 and MP 3 corresponds to 100 mA current
consumption for the power supply. Caution: when adjusting,
the current must not exceed 500 mA (500 mV)!!
2.2.2 Set the vapour push button to its minimum setting
Measure voltage at point MP 2 and MP 3 at 0.300 Volt ± 0.04 V.
Enter max. and min. values in the log.
2.3 Setting dry-running protection
2.3.1 Set the vapour push button to the maximum setting
(turning right till it stops)
Measure voltage at measuring points MP 1 (earth) and MP 4,
and adjust the voltage using regulator R23 to approx 3.0 V ±
0.5 V. Enter value into start-up log.
2.4 Testing dry-running protection
2.4.1 Switch on device with nebuliser chamber empty
The dry-running protection must respond immediately, with
red LED and audible alarm.
2.4.2 Start the device with water in the nebuliser chamber
Separate nebuliser chamber from the device while in operation.
The dry-running protection must respond immediately, with
red LED and audible alarm.
2.5 Checking electrical safety
according to VDE 0751, ICE 601-1
2.5.1 Earth wire
2.5.2 Earth resistance current
2.5.3 Housing resistance current
Trial run including testing of patient fan and timer.
