4.2 Building networking
With the dLAN 500 AVpro UNI you can flexibly use the
existing lines in the building for data transmission.
Even when using different cabling systems, the dLAN
500 AVpro UNI units can interconnect all network
nodes and all connected network devices so that, for
example, one central Internet connection is made pos-
sible.
If you have to use various transmission media (such as
power line and coaxial line) in a dLAN, use two dLAN
devices to build up a repeater for coupling these me-
dia. Implement this repeater, for example, by using an
Ethernet cable to directly interconnect a dLAN 500
AVpro UNI which transmits the data via the power line
and a dLAN 500 AVpro UNI which transmits the data
via the coaxial line (see, for example, 'Apartment 4' in
Fig. 7).
