4 Configuration
The devolo Giga Bridge has a built-in web interface
that can be called up using a standard web brows-
er. Here, you can read out device information and
configure settings for operating the
devolo Giga Bridge.
Note: The configuration must be carried out
separately for each adapter in the network.
Calling up the web interface and manually
adjusting the settings is only possible if the
devolo Giga Bridge adapters receive an IP
address. This is usually provided by the
router, via DHCP. To receive an IP address,
follow the instructions in Chapter 4.1
Calling up the built-in web interface.
Note: If the devolo Giga Bridge is connected to
the LAN port of the router, there is no active In-
ternet connection when you call up the web in-
terface!
The web interface is protected by a key (Device
Password) when called up. You can find the key on
the rear side of the devolo Giga Bridge adapters.
Write down the key of the
devolo Giga Bridge adapters before calling
up the web interface.
4.1 Calling up the built-in web
interface
This enables you to access the built-in web inter-
face for the devolo Giga Bridge:
1 Remove the end of the network cable that is
connected to the WAN port of the router.
2 Connect the end of the network cable to an
available LAN port on the router. The corre-
sponding devolo Giga Bridge adapter will now
receive an IP address.
Removing the network cable from the WAN
port of the router disconnects your Internet
connection. After configuring the
devolo Giga Bridge, remember to reconnect
the network cable to the WAN port of the
router.
3 Open the web interface of the router and
check which IP addresses were received by the
adapters of the devolo Giga Bridge in the LAN
overview. You can recognise the
devolo Giga Bridge adapters by their devolo
designation followed by the last three charac-
ters of the serial number, e.g. devolo-001.
