3.3 Pairing – Establishing a G.hn
connection
devolo Giga Bridge adapters that are in factory de-
fault condition, i.e. have been purchased or suc-
cessfully reset (see Chapter Resetting a
devolo Giga Bridge adapter or removing it from
a devolo Giga Bridge network), automatically at-
tempt to pair with another devolo Giga Bridge
adapter when reconnected to the mains supply.
Starting up a new devolo Giga Bridge network
For the initial installation, we recommend
setting up (pairing) the adapters in the vicin-
ity of the ONT and using a power strip for
the installation process. When operated
normally, all adapters of the
devolo Giga Bridge should be plugged into
single power sockets at the place of destina-
tion.
For an optimal network connection, the
devolo Giga Bridge adapters must be
operated in the same mode (SISO or MIMO
mode).

the devolo Giga Bridge adapters must be
operated in the same mode (SISO or MIMO
mode).

Wiring using a telephone line
1 Connect one end of the provided network
cable to the G.hn phone line socket (phone) on
one of the devolo Giga Bridge adapters.
2 Connect the other end of the provided net-
work cable to the G.hn phone line socket
(phone) of the other devolo Giga Bridge
adapter.
3 Connect both devolo Giga Bridge adapters to
an available power socket. The LEDs of both
adapters flash white. A new
devolo Giga Bridge network is automatically
set up (pairing).
