Proper hand position requires one hand on the mainhandle.
Preparing the Tool (Fig. A)
1. Remove battery pack and all nails from themagazine.
2. Check if the contact trip

and nail pusher can movefreely.
3. Reload the nails to themagazine.
WARNING: Do not use the tool if the contact trip or nail
pusher cannot movefreely.
CAUTION: NEVER spray or in any other way apply
lubricants or cleaning solvents inside the tool. This can
seriously affect the life and performance of thetool.
Actuating the Tool (Fig. A)
The DCN660 can be operated using one of two modes:
sequential action mode or bump actionmode.
The DCN661 operates in sequential modeonly.
Sequential Action Mode
The sequential action mode is used for intermittent nailing
when very careful and accurate placement isdesired.
1. Use the mode selector switch

2. Release the trigger lock-off

3. Push the contact trip

against the worksurface.
4. Pull the trigger switch

to actuate thetool.
5. Release trigger and remove contact trip from workpiece.
6. Repeat steps 3 – 5 to fire subsequentnails.
Bump Action
DCN660 only
The bump action mode is used for rapid nailing on flat,
stationarysurfaces.

1. Insert the belt hook

2. Pass the screw

mounting hole. Tighten thescrew.
Loading the Tool (Fig. D)
1. Insert fasteners into the rear of the magazine

2. Pull nail pusher

back until the nail follower falls behind
thenails.
3. Release thepusher.
Unloading the Tool
1. Holding the tool upright, squeeze the latch on pusher

and allow nails to slide down magazine past thepusher.
2. Remove the nails from the magazine

Adjusting the Driving Depth (Fig. A)
Using the depth adjustment wheel, the nail driving depth can
be adjusted to the type of fastenerused.
1. To drive the nail shallower, rotate the depth adjustment
wheel

towards the rear of the tool. Refer to gauge

to
understand where the tool is set within the availablerange.
2. To sink a nail deeper, rotate the depth adjustment wheel

towards the front of thetool.

Trigger Lock‑off (Fig. F)
This tool is equipped with a trigger lock-off

which prevents
the tool from firing anail.
To engage the trigger lock-off, push the switchdownward.
To release the trigger lock-off

and the battery pack is removed before making any
adjustments or when tool is not in immediateuse.
Non‑mar Tip (Fig. A)
Place the no-mark tip

over the contact trip

Store the no-mark tip at the holder

Worklights (Fig. H)
This tool has worklights

located on each side. The worklights
will light upon activating the trigger or releasing the contact
trip. The lights will automatically go off after 10 seconds of
non-operation. The worklights also function as a low battery
indicator and a jammed nail indicator. For further details, refer to
Low Battery Indicator or Clearing Stall or JammedNail.
WARNING: The worklights are intended for lighting the
immediate work surface. Do not use the worklights as the
only lightsource.
