  The safety valve might pop off on your DeWalt Air Compressor because the pressure switch isn't shutting off the motor when the compressor reaches its cut-out pressure. Another possibility is that the pressure switch cut-out is set too high. In the first case, set the On/Off switch to OFF (0).
