  If the Bad Battery LED is lit on your DieHard Automobile Battery Charger, it could mean that the battery voltage remains below 10V after 2 hours of charging, or in maintain mode, the output current exceeds 1.5A for 12 hours. It can also indicate that desulfation was unsuccessful, or the battery voltage drops below 12.2V in Maintain Mode. In such cases, the battery may be defective. Ensure there are no loads on the battery; if present, remove them. If there are no loads, have the battery checked or replaced.

  When both the Bad Battery and % LEDs are illuminated on your DieHard Automobile Battery Charger, it indicates that the battery is sulfated and the charger has entered desulfation mode. Allow the charger to continue charging for several hours to attempt desulfation. If this process is unsuccessful, have the battery checked.

  A short or nonexistent start cycle when cranking the engine with your DieHard Automobile Battery Charger can occur due to several reasons: drawing more current than the Engine Start Rate, not waiting 3 minutes between cranks, poor clamp connections, loose AC cord, no power at the receptacle, or the charger overheating. Also the battery may be severely discharged.
