Signature labeller - brake arm
The brake arm is fitted to the labeller to stop the label spool rotating to much when a label is pulled
through. As the label web is pulled to feed a label, the brake arm move down which releases the brake on
the spool. When the label stops feeding the brake arm will return upwards, bringing on the brake
The tension of the brake on the Signature labeller is controlled by an assembly in the rear of the labeller.
Adjustments can be made to this assembly to obtain the correct/suitable working of the brake.
Correct position for brake arm
When looking at the front of the labeller with no load on the brake arm it should sit in a position just off the
edge of the rear label reel. Note: the white roller should not touch the reel.
A good indicator for this is one of the screw holes in the back-plate is close to the top of the brake arm -
see photo below
Adjusting brake arm position
With no load on the arm, therefore in its rest position,
loosen the clamping screw at the end on the brake arm.
Adjust the brake arm position without moving the shaft
it was clamped to the position as above, retighten
