Why is my Dimplex Heater too cold?
    • S
      Stephen BruceAug 8, 2025
If your Dimplex heater is too cold, it could be due to a few reasons. There might have been a power interruption affecting the charge, so check the off-peak circuit, wall switch, fuse, and consumer unit. Also, if you have an automatic (XLS) heater and the room is already warm, it won't take an unnecessary charge. In this case, turn the INPUT control down. You can also try turning up the INPUT control, but note that this may take up to 24 hours to take effect.

How to make my Dimplex Heater warmer in the evening?
    • W
      William MaynardAug 14, 2025
To make your Dimplex heater warmer in the evening, set the OUTPUT control to minimum and then turn it to maximum when you want more heat. Remember to return it to minimum before you go to bed so that the heater can take a full charge.

Why is one of my Dimplex Heaters colder than the other?
    • W
      Wayne NelsonAug 19, 2025
If you have two automatic (XLS) Dimplex heaters in one area, they might be affecting each other. To resolve this, set one heater higher as a primary heat source and the other lower to provide supporting heat. This will prevent them from cancelling each other out and taking a reduced charge.

    • A
      Alan SimsAug 27, 2025

Why does my Dimplex XLS18N smell?
    • J
      Justin CrawfordSep 1, 2025
Apart from the initial commissioning period or dust accumulation after inactivity, your Dimplex heater should not emit smells. If decorating is planned, turn off the storage heater and ensure the room is well-ventilated before turning it back on. Soot deposits from lit cigarettes, candles, and oil burners, combined with the convection effect of the heater, can also cause smells. Installing a shelf above the heater, with at least 250mm clearance, can divert heat and prevent soot buildup on the wall.
