5. Test for tightness. Grab
the seat at the bottom of
the rear-facing belt path.
Try to move the car seat
side-to-side and front-to-
back with the force of a rm
handshake. If the seat moves
less than 1 in (2.5 cm), it is
tight enough. DO NOT test
by grasping the top or back
of the car seat. Only check
by grabbing rear-facing
belt path opening.
