Description & Intended Use
Assist devices are intended to be used with the following Direct Supply beds:
• Panacea3000bedswithasafeworkingloadof450pounds.
• Panacea3250bedswithasafeworkingloadof500pounds.
• Panacea3500bedswithasafeworkingloadof600pounds.
The assist device is intended for use as an aid in entering or exiting the bed, as well as a stable
handhold during self-positioning within the bed.
NOTE: The safe working load is the total weight, including the resident, mattress, bedding,
headboards and footboards, siderails, and other accessories evenly distributed on the sleep deck.
Capacity
The siderail has been designed and tested to meet or exceed the application of forces specified by
theInternationalSafetyStandardIEC60601-2-52,“Particularrequirementsforthesafetyofelectrically
operated hospital beds” figure 113.
