Operation
CMW
1. If necessary, adjust throttle to low idle.
2. Move attachment speed/direction control to desired speed. DIGGING CHAIN WILL MOVE.
3. Increase engine speed to full throttle.
4. Slowly lower digging boom to depth.
5. Raise backfill blade and release parking brake.
6. Move ground drive control to desired speed.
7. If using optional trench cleaner:
• Stop tractor and turn ignition switch to STOP.
• Manually lower trench cleaner.
• Restart tractor, fasten seat belt, and continue trenching.
8. Engage optional cruise control if desired. See page 98.
9. Lower boom to trench depth and push ground drive control forward to trenching speed.
10. When trench is complete, move ground drive control to neutral.
11. Adjust throttle to low idle.
12. Raise boom.
13. As boom clears top of trench, move attachment speed/direction control to neutral.
14. Swivel seat to the drive position.
15. Drive a short distance away from work site.
16. Shut down tractor. See page 62 for proper shutdown procedures.
17. Return optional trench cleaner to the stowed position.
NOTICE:
• Do not have trench cleaner in working position when starting a trench.
• Do not back up with trench cleaner in working position.
• Do not use trench cleaner in conditions where large rocks can get between chain and
cleaner.
