Function Description
The DL2001 Ring Light Kit consists of two main modules: the DL-LM01 Ring Light Module and the DL-BM01 Battery Module. These modules work together to provide illumination for underwater photography, particularly optimized for macro shooting with Olympus TG Series cameras.
The device offers a Flash mode (2-step brightness control), which utilizes a built-in light-receiving sensor to synchronize with the camera's internal flash, eliminating the need for an optical fiber cable. This mode is effective for capturing subjects that might react to continuous light. The light emission intensity in flash mode can be set to HIGH or LOW.
For continuous illumination, the device features a Light mode (5-step brightness control), allowing users to adjust brightness from 1 (dark) to 5 (bright). This provides flexibility for various shooting conditions.
The modular construction allows the light source and power source to be attached and detached by rotating a bayonet-style lock ring. This design minimizes stress on the O-rings, reducing the risk of water penetration. For air travel, a module cap can be attached to the Battery Module for insulation.
The device also incorporates various safety mechanisms to protect against emergencies, including an overpressure valve in the Battery Module, a safety circuit that shuts down the battery upon water penetration between modules, and overheating control.

Usage Features
- Optimized Optical Design for TG Series Cameras: Features a reduced ring thickness and direct mount, achieving a minimum emission distance of 3.5 cm. This design ensures no part of the picture frame is exposed underwater, even with its compact size.
- Uniform Ring Illumination: Provides uniform ring illumination with a maximum intensity of 1200 lm, suitable for various shooting conditions.
- Lightweight and Compact Body: Constructed from composite aluminum diecast and polycarbonate resin, weighing 360g on land and 98g in water. The ring itself is 19.5 mm thick with a diameter of 100 mm.
- Direct M52 Mounting: Screws directly onto the M52 TG Housing's lens ring, eliminating the need for a step-up ring. A Position Correction Mechanism (patent pending) allows the ring to be mounted horizontally despite the screw-in design.
- Intuitive Rotary Mode Dial: Features a magnetic, buttonless rotary mode dial for high waterproof performance and easy, intuitive operation. The selected mode can be visually confirmed from the back.
- Battery Indicator: An indicator lamp on the Battery Module shows the remaining battery level: blue for 100%-50%, purple for 50%-5%, and red for below 5%. If the battery drops below 5%, the light automatically dims to minimum intensity, and brightness control is disabled (maintained for about 2 hours).
- Error Warning: In Light mode, if the camera's built-in flash light is detected, the indicators will blink rapidly.
- External Flash Connectivity: Supports external flash connection via optical fiber cables. L-shaped plugs (Sea & Sea, Olympus) can be directly connected. For cables without plugs (Inon), the provided fiber connector cap can be used. A two-hole cap is available for dual flash systems.
Maintenance Features
- Double Waterproof Construction: Features two O-rings (red) to prevent water penetration into the Battery Module, and a drip-proof gasket (IPX6 rated) to protect electrical contacts.
- O-ring Maintenance: O-rings are consumable and should be replaced annually. Users must inspect O-rings for cracks, scratches, or dents and replace them if any abnormalities are found. Dedicated silicone grease (DL-SG01) must be used.
- Pre-use Maintenance: Before each use, O-rings should be removed, inspected for damage or foreign substances, and the O-ring grooves cleaned with a cotton swab. A thin layer of silicone grease should then be applied before reattaching the O-rings, ensuring no dirt is present.
- Post-use Maintenance: After use, the product should be soaked in fresh water for 1-24 hours to remove salt. After soaking, wipe with a dry cloth and allow to air dry naturally, away from direct sunlight or hair dryers, which can degrade O-rings.
- Storage: For long-term storage, disconnect the Light Module and Battery Module and attach their respective insulation caps (DL-LMC02 and DL-BMC01). The Battery Module's control PCB causes a gradual battery drain during storage, so recharging before use is recommended.
- Front Protector Maintenance: If the front protector (DL-FP01) becomes dirty or lost, a spare is provided and can be attached by fitting its groove onto the circumference of the Ring Light Module.
- Mode Dial Maintenance: If the mode dial becomes stiff due to salt or sand, it can be removed and washed. This should be done with the modules connected to prevent water ingress. The maintenance opener (DL-MO02) is used to loosen the maintenance nut, allowing the mode dial to be removed, cleaned, and air-dried. After cleaning, apply a thin layer of silicone grease to the two buffering O-rings (black) for smoother rotation. Ensure the maintenance nut does not rotate with the mode dial after reassembly.
