Product Features
The DL2001 Ring Light Kit is a compact, lightweight Ring Light source
designed especially for Olympus TG Series cameras.
Optical design optimized for TG Series cameras
· Minimum emission distance* of 3.5 cm thanks to the reduced ring thickness
and direct mount.
· Despite its compact design, the ring does not expose any part of the picture
frame even underwater.
· Uniform ring illumination with maximum light intensity of 1200 lm. 5-step
brightness control and flash mode (2-step brightness control) support
various shooting conditions.
· Color temperature: 5000 K. Color rendering index: Ra 80 or more.
* Refers to the distance at which a dark unlit circular area does not appear in
the center of the ring (distance from the lens protector glass surface of the
TG housing).
Lightweight, compact body with TG Series-optimized design
· Composite aluminum diecast and polycarbonate resin construction provide
durability and light weight, with a weight of 360 g on land and 98 g in water.
The ring itself is just 19.5 mm thick with a diameter of 100 mm.
Mounts directly on the M52 TG Housing’s lens ring
· The DL2001 can be screwed directly onto the M52 TG Housing’s lens ring,
so no step-up ring is required. The Position Correction Mechanism (patent
pending) makes it possible to mount the ring horizontally despite the screw-
in design.
Flash mode (2-step brightness control)
· A built-in light-receiving sensor that lines up with the built-in ash on a TG
Series camera facilitates ash functionality without an optical ber cable.
Rotary mode dial with intuitive operation
· The rotary mode dial features a convenient magnet and buttonless
construction maximizes waterproof performance. The mode can be
visually conrmed from the back for easier, more intuitive operation.
Modular construction
· The light source and power source are modularized. These modules can
be attached and detached by rotating the bayonet-style lock ring, which
means that no load — such as torsion or rotation — is applied to the
O-rings, thereby reducing the risk of water penetration. To transport the
DL2001 on an airplane, mount the provided module cap on the Battery
Module (for insulation).
· The Light Module and Battery Module have double O-rings to prevent
water penetration.
Various safety mechanisms protect against emergencies
· The Battery Module is provided with an overpressure valve and a safety
circuit that shuts down the battery when water penetration is detected
between the modules. Other safety measures include an overheating
control.
