Adjusting the idle speed
CAUTION: The cutting tool may rotate
during adjustment. Wear your protective equip-
ment and observe all safety instructions.
CAUTION: The carburetor is factory
adjusted. Never adjust anything other than idle
speed.Forotheradjustments,consultourauthorized
servicecenter.
CAUTION: Adjust the idle speed so that
the cutting tool does not rotate. The idle speed is
too high if the cutting tool rotates. If the cutting tool
continuestoruninidle,consultourauthorizedservice
center.
Appropriate low-speed rotation:3,300 min
-1
(rpm).
If the engine stops or runs unsteadily at idle, turn the
adjustmentscrewtotherightusingaPhillipsscrew-
driver.Ifthethecuttingtoolcontinuestorotateevenat
idle,turntheadjustmentscrewtotheleft.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Any maintenance or adjust-
ments that are not included and described in this
manual are only to be performed by our autho-
rized service center.
CAUTION: Before inspection and mainte-
nance, stop the engine and allow it to cool down.
Remove the spark plug and plug cap. Not doing so
may cause the operator to suffer burns or a serious
injuryduetoanaccidentalstart-up.
CAUTION: After inspection and main-
tenance, be sure that all parts are correctly
assembled.
CAUTION: Always wear protective gloves.
CAUTION: The metal blades must be
resharpened only by an authorized facility. Manual
resharpening may result in imbalances in the cutting
tool,causingvibrationsanddamagetothetool.
CAUTION: Never use gasoline, benzine,
thinner, alcohol or the like for cleaning the tool.
Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.
NOTICE: To ensure a long service life and to
avoid any damage to the equipment, perform
servicing operations at regular intervals.
Daily checks and maintenance
Before starting operation
• Checkthemachineforloosescrewsormissing
parts. Pay particular attention to the tightness of
the cutting tool.
• Alwayscheckifthereisanyclogginginthecooling
airpassageandthecylinderns.Cleanthecool-
ingairpassageandthecylindernsifnecessary.
• Checkthefunctioningofthebuttonsandlevers.
