6Intended use
The device is intended to provide information about consumption, charging current, house and
starter battery voltage, remaining capacity in Ah or in percentage, as well as remaining running
time. The unit is programmable to generate a 12 V signal for intelligent control tasks, either
depending time or capacity.
This product is only suitable for the intended purpose and application in accordance with these
instructions.
This manual provides information that is necessary for proper installation and/or operation of the
product. Poor installation and/or improper operating or maintenance will result in unsatisfactory
performance and a possible failure.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any injury or damage to the product resulting from:
Incorrect assembly or connection, including excess voltage
Incorrect maintenance or use of spare parts other than original spare parts provided by the man-
ufacturer
Alterations to the product without express permission from the manufacturer
Use for purposes other than those described in this manual
Dometic reserves the right to change product appearance and product specifications.
7 Technical description
The battery monitor provides continuous information about the status of batteries connected
through the shunt.
The following values can be shown on the display:
Remaining battery capacity (%) and (Ah) with bar graph
Flowing current (A)
Battery voltage (V) of house and starter battery
Remaining battery running time (h) (with current consumption)
Time and date
Inside and outside temperature
8 Installing the device
8.1 Mounting instructions
The battery monitor should be installed in an accessible place.
The shunt must be installed in the immediate vicinity of the batteries.
All consumers and charging devices for the batteries must be routed through the shunt.
