INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

The appliance MUST be properly grounded. Ground-
ing reduces the risk of electrical shock if the appliance
housing becomes energized.

The appliance MUST be connected to a dedicated
15 amp circuit separate from other electrical appli-
ances. The overcurrent protection MUST be rated
at 15 amps.
NOTICE:Thelifeoftheappliancemaybesignicantly
shortened if operated on an incline.
Themaximuminclineangleuponwhichtheappliance
rests MUST be no more than two degrees.
A. Tools and Parts
Gather the required tools and parts before attempting
installation. The parts included with the appliance are
in the drum. Other items required for installation are
the responsibility of the installer.

B. Location Requirements
Selecting the proper location for your appliance im-
proves performance, minimizes noise and possible
appliance movement. Your appliance can be in-
stalled under a custom counter, closet, or recessed
area. See “Drain System Options” (Page 8). Proper
installationisthequaliedinstaller'sresponsibility.
● Required Items:
● A water heater set to deliver 120–140°F
(49–60°C)watertotheappliance.
● A grounded electrical outlet located within 3
ft. (1 m) of where the power cord is attached
to the back of the appliance. See “Electrical
Requirements”.
● Hot and cold water faucets located within 3
ft.(1m)ofthehotandcoldwaterllvalves,
and water pressure of 20–100 psi (137.9–
689.6 kPa).
● Aleveloorwithamaximumslopeof2°(25
mm) under the entire appliance.
● Asturdyandsolidoortosupporttheappli-
ance's total weight (water and load) of 200 lbs.
Installingtheapplianceonsoftoorsurfaces,
such as carpets or surfaces with foam backing,
is NOT recommended.
● Do NOT operate or store your appliance in
temperaturesbelow32°F(0°C).Somewater
can remain in the appliance and cause dam-
age in low temperatures.
C. Installation Clearances
● The location MUST be large enough to allow the
appliance door to be fully opened.
● Additional spacing should be considered for ease
of installation and servicing. The door opens more
than90°,anditis NOT reversible (Fig. 1).
● Additional clearances might be required for wall,
door,andoormoldings.
● Spacing of 1 inch (2.5 cm) on all sides of the ap-
pliance is required (Fig. 2).
D. Electrical Requirements
WARNING! Risk of serious injury or death due
toelectricalshock,re,orexplosionifthefollowing
instructions are NOT followed.
● A 120V/60Hz, AC only, fused electrical supply is
required. A time-delay fuse or a circuit breaker
serving only this appliance MUST be provided.
● This appliance is equipped with a power supply
cord that has a 3-prong grounding plug.
