Overview

The DoorHan Shaft-30 IP65 is an electromechanical shaft operator designed for the automation of industrial sectional doors. It features a mechanical reducer in an "oil bath" and an electric motor with an integrated control unit, all housed within a common casing. A 3-position control station connects to the control unit, and the operator can be installed either directly on the shaft or via an intermediate chain-drive (optional).

Function Description

The Shaft-30 IP65 provides automatic and reliable stopping of the motor in extreme positions thanks to its automatic stop system. A self-blocking reducer mechanically locks the door shaft when the operator is stopped, ensuring security. In the event of a power cut, the door can be operated manually using a release lever, which is turned 180° clockwise, or by the reducer chain. Limit switches are incorporated to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Usage Features

Installation: The operator can be installed on-shaft or via a chain drive. For on-shaft installation, a mounting bracket is fixed to the wall, the release lever is turned 180° counter-clockwise, and closing rings are installed on the door shaft to secure the operator. For chain drive installation, additional accessories (bracket, large and small sprockets, chain) are required. The large sprocket is installed on the door shaft, the bracket is fixed to the wall, and the operator is secured to the bracket with M10 bolts, with the chain tension adjusted.

Adjustment of Extreme Positions: Both closed (red cam) and open (green cam) positions require coarse and fine adjustments.

  • Coarse Adjustment: Ensure the operator is fixed rigidly and the door is in the desired position. Loosen the screw for coarse adjustment of the respective cam, turn it until the microswitches are pushed, then tighten the screw. Verify that the cam pushes the microswitches and the corresponding indicator (DL3 for closed, DL2 for open) goes off on the control block.
  • Fine Adjustment: Use the fine adjustment screw to precisely set the door's position. Clockwise turning causes earlier limit switch actuation, while counter-clockwise turning causes later actuation. Always verify that the limit switches work properly after adjustment; if the indicator still glows, repeat the process. An additional yellow cam is available for accessories like traffic lights or alarm systems.

Manual Control:

  • Control with Release: To manually open or close the door, turn the release lever up to the stop. This disconnects the power supply. To return to automatic control, turn the lever backward to the stop, restoring power.
  • Control with Chain: The Shaft-30 is equipped with a manual chain reducer for emergency lifting/lowering during a power cut. Pull the chain to operate the door. It is crucial to use the chain only in emergencies, as intensive regular use can damage the reducer. Ensure chain links are clean and not deformed to prevent jamming. The chain should hang 50–150 cm above the floor and be fixed to prevent obstruction. Warning labels indicating opening and closing directions should be clearly visible.

Maintenance Features

The Shaft-30 automatic system generally does not require special servicing. However, repairs should only be carried out by qualified technicians certified by an authorized DoorHan center.

  • After installation, the installer must demonstrate how to release the door in an emergency and provide instructions on proper operation and maintenance.
  • It is recommended to use original DoorHan spare parts for maintenance.
  • Maintenance of the automatic system should be performed at least every six months.
  • Regularly check if the door is properly balanced and moves smoothly during automatic operation.
  • Verify that the extreme positions of door travel are correctly adjusted and safety devices are in good working condition.
  • In case of power failure, operator settings may need to be restored. After power is restored, check the automatic system and reprogram any changed settings according to the manual.
  • The door will stop during a power failure and can be controlled as usual once power is restored.
  • At the end of its lifespan, the item should be delivered to a specialized disposal point.
  • DoorHan does not supervise the installation or maintenance of operators and is not liable for the safety of installation, operation, or maintenance of the equipment.
