2.3.27. Starting motor
z The starter motor is installed at the rear side of the left flywheel housing (seen
from the flywheel side). When disassembling the engine, soak the starter motor
pinion gear and ring gear into fuel and clear with brushes. Then, apply grease to
prevent corrosion.
The starter motor should be always protected from humidity.
WARNING :
Make sure to disconnect the battery ground line ("-" minus line) before
working with the electrical system. Connect the ground line again when the
work is completed, because there is a risk of a short circuit during the work.
