PILOT 2 Cycle Tiller/Cultivator
Chapter 4: Maintaining the DR PILOT 2 Cycle Tiller/Cultivator
This chapter covers regular maintenance procedures that will ensure the best performance and long life of your DR PILOT 2
Cycle Tiller/Cultivator.
Prior to performing any maintenance, you must first shut off the Engine; wait five (5) minutes to allow parts to cool and
disconnect the Spark Plug wire, keeping it away from the Spark Plug.
Regular Maintenance Checklist
NOTE: Consider that the service intervals shown are the maximum under normal operating conditions. Increase frequencies under
extremely dirty or dusty conditions.

Check the Engine Fuel Level
Clean the Tines and Hood*
After each use
Check the general condition of the machine, e.g.
nuts, bolts, welds, etc.
Clean Engine Exterior & Cooling Fins
Clean Air Filter
Check Tines for Wear
Replace Air Filter
Replace Spark Plug
* Cover the Engine Muffler, Carburetor, and Air Filter before using a hose to clean the Tines and Hood.
Lubrication
The Tines Drive Transmission Case has grease installed at the factory. We recommend that once a year to have the
Transmission opened by a qualified service professional and the grease level checked. Add a molylithium type grease
only if the level of the grease is below the top of the gears. DO NOT OVERFILL.
