Chapter 4: Maintaining Your DR TOW-BEHIND ROTOTILLER
This chapter covers regular maintenance procedures that will ensure the best performance and long life of your DR TOW-BEHIND
ROTOTILLER. For Engine maintenance, please refer to the Engine Owner’s Manual that came with your machine. Service
intervals listed in the checklist below supersede those listed in the Engine Owner’s Manual. Maintenance Kits and accessories are
available through our website at www.DRpower.com.
Regular Maintenance Checklist
NOTE: Consider that the service intervals shown are the maximum under normal operating conditions. Increase frequencies under
extremely dirty or dusty conditions.
PROCEDURE
BEFORE EACH USE
EVERY 8-10 HOURS
EVERY 35 HOURS
Check the Engine Oil Level
Clean the Tines and Debris Shield*
After each use
Check the general condition of the machine, e.g. nuts, bolts,
welds, etc.
Clean Engine Exterior & Cooling Fins
Check the Tines Shear Bolts for wear
Grease the Tines Shaft
Check the Transmission Oil Level NOTE: 1

Clean Air Filter
Inspect the Tine Drive Belt for wear
Check Tines for Wear
Change Engine Oil NOTE: 1

time 5 to 8 hrs.
Replace Air Filter and Pre-cleaner
Replace the Tine Drive Belt
Replace Spark Plug
* Cover the Engine Muffler, Carburetor, and Air Filter before using a hose to clean the Tines and Debris Shield.
Lubrication
Your DR TOW-BEHIND ROTOTILLER was lubricated at the Factory. However, periodic lubrication of the Engine and Tines Shaft
is required.
Supplies Needed:
Grease Gun w/General purpose grease.
When performing any maintenance, you must first shut off the Engine; wait five (5) minutes to allow parts to cool and disconnect
the Spark Plug Wire, keeping it away from the Spark Plug.
